Heidi's 3D Prints Is Back — Here's What's New

Hi, I'm Heidi Derek's Dog— and welcome (or welcome back) to my little corner of the internet.

If you've visited my store before, you'll notice things look a bit different. I've spent the last little while rebuilding Heidi's 3D Prints from the ground up — new store, new products, new services — and today it's finally ready to share. I'm pretty excited about it, and I hope you will be too.

A bit about me

I'm a 3D printing enthusiast based in New Zealand, and what started as a hobby has slowly turned into something I genuinely love sharing with people. There's something incredibly satisfying about taking a digital file — something that only exists on a screen — and turning it into a real, physical object you can hold in your hands. Whether it's a gift for someone, a functional part for around the house, or something totally fun and decorative, I love the process every single time.

What's new

The biggest thing I'm excited about is the new custom quote service. If you've got a 3D file you've been sitting on — something you designed, downloaded, or found online — you can now send it to me and I'll review it, check printability, and get a personalised quote back to you within 24 hours. No obligation, always free to ask. Just head to the Get a Quote page and fill in the details.

I print in two materials — PLA for decorative items, gifts, and display pieces, and PETG for anything that needs to be a bit tougher or handle the outdoors. I also print with an AMS (Automatic Material System), which means I can do up to four colours in a single print — no swaps, no mess, just clean, crisp multi-colour results straight off the printer. If you've ever wanted something printed in your team colours, a logo in multiple shades, or a decorative piece that really pops — that's now very much on the table.

What's in the store right now

I've kept the initial product range focused on quality over quantity while I get things up and running. Right now you'll find items like the ever-popular Fidget Octopus — a beautifully articulated print that's satisfying to play with and makes a fantastic desk toy or gift — as well as some fun wall art pieces in black PLA. I'll be adding new products regularly, so it's worth checking back often.
